As the oldest of six daughters to my Upstate New York dairy farming parents, I was given many responsibilities at a very young age. While most children were concerned with household chores like washing the dishes, setting the dinner table and take out the trash; I was concerned with rounding up livestock, milking cows, feeding animals in addition to the dishes, table setting and garbage.
How was I to know the dramatic turns my life would take?
How could any young American girl envision that she might someday travel, marry a Canadian, move two thousand one hundred miles away from her dairy-farming family, and live in the downtown of the super-awesome up-and-coming city of Salt Lake City, Utah?
I am optimistic with a sense of humor. I have a profound yet simple faith. I love mothering, learning, sharing, cooking and eating. I want to make the most of this life by smiling, enjoying and loving people I meet.
I am Kristen Sherlock. I can’t think of anyone else to be.
